Register for USH Local Social New England

Each year the USH Connections Conference reminds those in the Usher community that they are not alone, empowering families with knowledge about Usher syndrome and current research efforts. One consistent request is for more time to socialize and connect with others. This new series of events is our response.

All in the Usher community are welcome to attend the New England “USH Local Social.” This includes individuals with Usher syndrome, parents of children with Usher syndrome, spouses, family members, etc. The Usher Syndrome Coalition is hosting this event in collaboration with the Usher Syndrome Society, a nonprofit that uses storytelling through the arts, educational events, and collaboration to raise public awareness and research funds towards finding treatments and a cure for Usher syndrome. This event will allow individuals and families to gather and participate in various "Master Classes" led by individuals with Usher syndrome.

PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to submit requests for ASL interpreters is July 1, 2023.

ACCESSIBILITY

Participants are encouraged to bring their own Support Service Provider (SSP) if needed. The USH Local Social registration fee will be waived for personal SSPs. If you live in Massachusetts and need an SSP, ask your Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) case manager to fill out the referral form and send that to Jonathan Lejeune at jlejeune@deafinconline.org. DBCAN will process the request to provide SSP or CN services. Requests need to be coordinated two weeks in advance of the event. For participants in other states, please check your USH Ambassador page to see if your state has an SSP-coordinating agency.

USH LOCAL SOCIAL NEW ENGLAND REFUND POLICY
Written cancellations received by June 30th will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after June 30, 2023. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to Julia at j.dunning@usher-syndrome.org.
