USA - State Deaf-Blind Children's Projects

Every state has a state project for deaf-blind children which 1) identifies children with combined vision and hearing loss in your state and 2) provides training and support to the schools that serve your child. Family supports are available as well. Find your state deaf-blind project here.

In 2017, the National Center on Deaf-Blindness hosted a webinar on Educational Considerations for Students with Usher Syndrome. In this presentation, Patti McGowan and Carly Fredericks - parents of children with Usher syndrome - provide a comprehensive overview of the services and supports their children received as well as general tips on advocacy. We highly recommend it!
