  • Environmental considerations to enhance learner reception.
  • Accurate modifications for various modes of communication: low vision, reduced peripheral fields and tactile sign language.
  • Appropriate hand-under-hand communication techniques: seating, positioning, respectful touch, sign modifications.

Guidelines for Participants

Test your system Prior to the Webinar
Test your system to make sure it is compatible prior to the session by going to the TA and D iLinc website which can be found here.  Click on the system test tab found in the horizontal red bar towards the top of the page.  Follow the simple instructions on this page.  We suggest you do this a few days before the session so you can adjust any computer settings before hand.

Register for the Session
Register for the session by going to the TA and D iLinc website
Click on the public sessions tab in the horizontal red bar towards the top of the page.  Look at the list of sessions, click on the one you will participate in and follow the directions to register.  You will be emailed a link that you will use on the day of the session.  

If you have not participated in a video conference or webinar before.

The day of the session

Find your registration email, click the link in the email and follow the directions.  You will be using the internet audio option rather than the phone conferencing. 

Tips for during the webinar
Mute your microphone if you have one.
Use headphones attached to your computer for better audio quality. (Listening through the computer speakers without headphones will work, but volume will be lower.)
